QUIZ explores the boundaries between art and design via some 100 works by international artists and designers.
These are hybrid objects that stubbornly resist being placed within pre-established typologies of sculpture, products, furniture and so on. They are hard to recognise, intriguing and puzzling, and they encourage us to look at them and appreciate them with open minds.
At a time when the permeability of borders is being advocated, does it still make sense to make a distinction between art and design? Has the question of the status of objects become obsolete? All the pieces selected for this project, whose forms explore the notion of “thingness”, help us to answer these questions.
