Tokyo a Floating World, deluxe edition
During one of his stays in Tokyo, Romain Slocombe went looking for Nobuyoshi Araki, in hopes of making a film about him. This book presents the photographic story of this journey, followed by Slocombe’s diary.
Trusting the signs as he wanders the city, Slocombe encounters friends who become his models and willingly take part in his “medical art”.
We follow him and get lost in the floating world, in the poetic depths of Tokyo nights ruled by desire.
Only a few copies remain of the deluxe edition of 100 copies, each which is numbered and signed by the artist, contains an original numbered and signed photographic print on baryta paper and features a cover made with Gmund cannabis paper.
